Teresa Mbewe is a public health specialist, she is studying Bachelor's in Public Health at Malawi College of Health Sciences. She also holds a Postgraduate qualification in Maternal Health (30 ECTS) from Turku University of Applied Sciences, Finland, completed in partnership with Kamuzu University of Health Sciences and funded by the European Union.

Teresa has served as a youth representative in Malawi's Collaborative Advocacy Action Plan (CAAP) coalition for Women's, Children's and Adolescents' Health, led by Amref Health Africa Malawi and supported by PMNCH, contributing to cross-party political commitments and the first-ever Parliamentarian Induction Workshop on WCAH. Her engagement in youth advocacy and policy dialogue later led to an invitation by PMNCH at the World Health Organization (WHO) to review the pilot version of its global course on adolescent health and well-being policy and programming. Alongside her policy work, Teresa's research on adolescent and maternal mental health was presented at the Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS) symposium and the Malawi National Youth Summit, and was competitively accepted for oral presentation at the Tanzania Health Summit 2026.

Beyond Health Programming, Teresa's technical experience spans digital business facilitation and monitoring and evaluation. She trained 80 entrepreneurs under the Going Beyond Project (mHub/DOT/Mastercard Foundation) and later and later managed data collected from 600 participants as an M&E Assistant at Digital Opportunity Trust

Her advocacy is connected to networks working with women living with HIV, young women, young people, and other underserved communities. She remains deeply committed to bridging the gap between national health policy, public health programming, and the lived realities of communities in Malawi.
