Ty McClelland

I'm a student of our environment. I use different forms of media and techniques to record the marine environment around the Ryukyu Islands. While scuba diving around the Ryukyu Islands I am cataloguing the biological diversity of the area using standard as well as creative image processing.

My passion lies with Ocean exploration and teaching, using visual technology to bring education about the environment to everyone, and creating thought provoking discussion about the state of our planet.

I do many other things as well. I have been working in clinical laboratories for over 20 years in a management capacity. I lead differing teams of individuals with differing goals seeking a common outcome.

I also teach. I'm a master scuba instructor, English as a second language instructor, content creator for a digital reference company, commercial photographer, Smithsonian Fellow, Nonprofit Founder and CEO, and PhD student.
