Academic Advisor in Washington, DC

Hire me

I am a higher education professional dedicated to cultivating inclusive spaces and supporting development opportunities for today's college students. My professional and pre-professional experiences include all things student services: academic advising, student success, new student programs/first-year experience, leadership development programming, and student activities.

Currently, I work as an Academic Advisor in the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland. I provide direct support and advising to all undergraduate students on academic probation, coordinate orientation programs and am responsible for the recruitment and retention of first-year students.

I earned a masters degree in Higher Postsecondary Education at Syracuse University (SU) in May 2019. Throughout my studies, I worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Student Activities at SU, where I organized leadership development programs and advised student organizations.

I earned a bachelor's degree in Media Management from St. John Fisher College in 2017. My degree focused heavily on social media, marketing, and public relations. The skills I gained at SJFC continuously help me engage with and appeal to student populations though various platforms, in-person and online. Student affairs is not exempt from today's technology driven world - if we want our students' attention, we must meet them where they are.

Outside of higher education, I am a lover of all things music. It is always a goal of mine to attend several concerts a year - in addition to a broadway show or two. I work part-time as a choreographer and marketing coordinator for a children's theatre in Syracuse, NY, something that allows me to give back to the theatre community that poured into me as a child!
