Born in Philadelphia; educated at George School and Temple University's Tyler School of Fine Art; currently working in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. S.G. Silk Purse Products is the name of a company using the discarded irregulars or damaged pieces from a local source to make new art objects, often using the flaws in the original product as stepping off points for carving, incising, woodburning, coloring and other techniques. The results are always original, and one of a kind. Rescued bowls and vessels make heirloom quality treasures.

Susan is currently working on a fifty- piece project for a local Community Supported Arts program where she was one of seven selected as feature artists for this year.
