As VP of Corporate Development at Clio, Shubham leads M&A and Clio Ventures, searching for companies that can accelerate Clio's product roadmap and help transform the legal experience for all.
At Clio, he has helped the company raise over $1.4B across its $900M Series F and $500M Series G, and led the largest M&A transaction in legaltech with the 2025 acquisition of vLex. He has led Clio's M&A strategy and founded Clio Ventures, completing 5 acquisitions and 10+ venture investments during his tenure. Today, Clio is a global leader in legal AI, with over $500M in ARR and over 2,000 employees globally.
Shubham has over 10 years of M&A experience on both sides of the table as a strategic acquirer and sell-side advisor, spanning sourcing, deal execution, and integration. Prior to Clio, Shubham spent two years at Shopify on the corporate development team, where he completed seven acquisitions and investments including the $450M acquisition of 6 River Systems, a warehouse automation company. Before Shopify, he helped fund, grow, and exit venture-backed startups as a Director at SurePath Capital Partners, a strategic financial advisor to global SMB software businesses. He is a CPA, CA and holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
Based in Toronto, Shubham is an avid sports fan (basketball, hockey, cricket) and a doubles tennis player. He previously hosted The Backbone, a podcast exploring the journey inside finance at venture-backed startups, where he interviewed finance leaders across stages.
