I am a primary school teacher in Essex, currently teaching year 6 but have also taught years 2, 3, 4 and 5. After being an ICT co-ordinator for a number of years I obtained the post of Numeracy co-ordinator and am now leading the subject at a school in Braintree where I also have the responsibility for teaching and learning.

Having a keen interest in technology as a tool to aid learning, I am also a blogger and strive to get more children benefiting from this method of communication.

In my spare time I have run marathons and have been competing in triathlons over the past few years as well. After cycling from London to Paris I needed a new challenge and decided to go long, triathlon wise. A full ironman triathlon was the main goal (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run). After three years of training (as well as a bad Spider bite) I succeeded in completing Ironman UK in 2016 in a time of just over 15 hours.

Now I just need to look towards the next challenge. I would love to take part in a channel swim and would also love to complete an ultra run. Time to get training, they've got to be done before I'm 45.
