Roberto Gregoratti

Southampton, England

Born in Narni, Italy, in 1994, I am a Computer Science student, database developer and administrator, translator and tech lover living in Southampton, England.

Before moving here, I've been studying in Istituto Villa Flaminia, a private school in Rome, where I got a spiritual, moral and professional education which prepared me to face the challenges of this unpredictable life. I met amazing people and gained invaluable experience, and travelled to many parts of the world including New York and London for conferences at the United Nations and to enrol in university.

After leaving High School with full marks of 100/100 cum laude in the Italian final exam, I moved to the University of Southampton to study Computer Science for 4 (or 3) years, from September 2012.

I enjoy learning about technology, databases and scuba diving, and also taking part in group competitions and workshops at the University and affiliated companies, and working on projects or attending conferences with my friends.

As I love languages, I decided to become a freelance translator too, helping with crowdsourced projects in my spare time, online.

In terms of computing, I am a Java programmer, Web developer, database administrator and designer.

At uni, I work as a student helper for my University, and I am actively involved in the Students' Union, where I have been on my old Halls of Residence's JCR Committee for a year and will be (as Secretary) for the next year, and as Union Councillor too.

I am passionate, open-minded and have a good sense of humor, which makes me feel at ease in every situation: I am flexible, and I enjoy taking on new challenges and opportunities.
