Rahul Bhattacharya

I was the School Prefect at National Public School, Koramangala, in Bangalore, India, and am currently pursuing Cognitive Science with a specialization in Machine Learning and Neurocomputing at UC San Diego. Born in Dallas, Texas, I've lived in India most of my life, and plan to travel abroad for further studies. I'm an eager entrepreneur, an ambitious musician, an avid MUNner, and am incredibly in love with programming, especially web development. I've had the opportunity to participate in a programming workshop conducted by Microsoft, and have also had the experience of interning at an IT company at the age of 16. To add to this, I'm also one of the few students of Bangalore who've been selected to be a part of the Cisco Talent Cloud Program. I've also had the success of winning at a Hackathon conducted by Spark Career Mentors and IBM. I'm the founder of an organization known as GameRev, which seems to have gained popularity in the city, with it's goal being to upscale the level of gaming in the country. Through GameRev, I've also been able to team up with the startup company SmartHomeCafe in Bangalore, to become Managing Partner at the popular gaming Lounge - Area 47. I'm also the drummer and manager of the Bangalore band, Remembrance, who have been ranked as one of India's top 9 bands by Yamaha. In addition, I am an active participant in the Model United Nations Circuit, and have placed at several MUNs, including the prestigious Harvard Model United Nations, India 2016. I'm also proud to say that I contribute to the society by playing an active role in helping the organisation - EmpoWer - which seeks to promote Women Empowerment across India.
