Peter Mingaars

Peter Mingaars, guitarist, Born 01-05-1950, is the first guitarist in the Netherlands to receive the official Bachelors degree for jazz guitar at the conservatory of Rotterdam (1981), now Codarts.

Was teacher of jazz guitar and jazz history at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg, Netherlands. Versatile player in styles ranging from swing through bebop and freejazz to samba.

For ±twenty years he was member of one of the most prominent contemporary jazz orchestras from Holland: Caoutchouc led by Edison winner Niko Langenhuijsen. With this band he played numerous concerts on many (inter)national festivals (a.o. North Sea Jazz festival, Moers, Donaueschingen, Berlin, Paris, Middelheim/Antwerp) and made several vinyl records and cd's with them.

As sideman/guest he played with Leroy Jones, Harry Allen, Warren Vaché jr., Bert Boeren, Henk de Laat,Hein vd Geijn, Yvonne Walter, Willem Kühne, David Livingstone Jazzmessengers, Antoine Trommelen, Carlo de Wijs, Michel Herr, Patrick Artero, Sammy Rimington, Audubon, Steve Yocum, Frank Robberscheuten, Robert Veen, Boptet of Swing, Dirk van der Linden, Lillian Boutté, Wim Dijkgraaf, Harry Kanters, Jason Marsalis
