Nicky Spaulding

Brickell Avenue, Miami, Florida 33131

I am, in no particular order, an artist, an entrepreneur, an engineer, and a board director. My family and close friends call me “Nicky”, my middle name. I have always been driven; I guess I am the typical type “A” personality. I believe in living my life to the fullest and accepting no limitations.

I was schooled in Jamaica where I attended Wolmer's Boys High School and followed that at the University of Miami, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering. My school life was always a balance between my academic studies and my love for drama, music and art.
At the age of fifteen, I was certified both in the piano and the violin by The Royal Schools of Music in London. In between high school and university I continued my studies in art at the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts.

After graduation from UM I entered the corporate world as a biomedical engineer. During this time I designed several catheter devices (stents), atherectomy devices etc... For which I obtained patents. After a few years I moved out of engineering and into management becoming one of the youngest senior executives in my company, reaching the point of having global responsibilities for the company's operations.

Today, having retired from the everyday hustle and bustle of the corporate world I spend my time privately investing, painting and exhibiting my works, and actively participating as a board director for a publicly traded firm.
