Miss Gibbins

I am a high school technology teacher at a junior campus on the Central Coast, NSW Australia. I am currently teaching computers and food technology with a little bit of textiles thrown in the mix as well.

I enjoy e-learning and try to incorporate web tools and ICT where ever I can in the classroom, even when I'm in the kitchens. Some of the ICT strategies I utilise in my classroom are:

-Moodle

-Blogging

-Social Networks (Facebook)

-Use of mobile phones

-QR Codes

-Digital displays of work

-Web 2.0 Tools

Technology is such a big part of my life and the world. I love to learn new ways to implement my work in the classroom and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. Check out my blog that was specially designed for 'Digitalising the Food Tech Classroom'

I am currently undertaking my Masters in Digital Media through the University of Newcastle to assist with my professional development. My goal in the future is to get a blog up and running about technology to share with my fellow colleagues.

P.S. My background pic doesn't really have anything to do with teaching, only that it was a well deserved holiday in the Greek Islands. I was limited with pictures when I created this.
