Michael Ball

So, you want to know a bit about me? If not, well, just skip all this and go here! :-)

Being a college student is great! I'm always busy and learning new things and meeting super awesome people, both friends and professors. However, when not studying lambda functions, reading a calculus book, or trying to find work, I spend my time being a technologist and a photographer.

Technologist? I love technology and I'm a nerd! Which means that I'm (not surprsingly, I suppose) very interested in computers, especially in the ways that technology can work with new forms of media, it's social implications and how we can use these amazing new tools to improve education. And as college student at one of the leading computer science institutions, I get to play with some pretty crazy technology! In my free time I love to play around with anything I can get my hands on, and I've worked on my own iPhone app. Quad Solver is a simple and possibly useful application which will solve all your quadratic equation related needs (should you have any)! It's something I put together just for fun, and it's free in the App Store.

Of course, I'm also an artist, and enjoy exploring the Bay Area, my home town, or finding unique and unknwon places when I travel. Those become my main photographic subjects and I'm always working on improving my photographic technique and share the results on my website. Photography is fun, really fun! To me it provides an excellent creative exercise, but also has an amazing technical side as well. Plus, with the way digital photography works there's so many new possibilities for combing art with new technology, which is a topic I'm actively studying in my free time.

Of course, there's really so much more than that which I'm interested in and work on. I'm also an Apple Cetified Professional for Aperture 3 and Apple Certified Associate for Mac OS X Lion 10.7 Mac Integration. If any of this sounds cool feel free to follow me at any of the links below or view my résumé.
