Mario J Brown

Mario J. Brown aka “Rio” is a notable, gifted, anointed, singer and songwriter! He has the distinct ability to write songs of various genres and the ability to do so with timeliness and perfection. His music has a cross over appeal and is very refreshing. It sends you on a journey and ultimately leads you to a place of truth within yourself. The music that he creates is well crafted, unique and unduplicated.

Mario J Brown was born in Milwaukee, WI and currently resides in Atlanta GA. He is married to Kimberly Marie Brown! Together they have a beautiful blended family of 6 children. Jae’min, Robert, Brooklyn, Brandon, Sydni and Londyn. He is also the proud G-Papa of Madison Brown.

Singer, composer, arranger Mario Brown’s musical journey began early. Growing up in his grandfather, Pastor Joe Orr’s church (Greater New Life C.O.G.I.C.), Mario was given the opportunity to learn, develop and showcase his talents. Mario actually started playing the drums at the age of two. By the time I was four, Mario says… “I was playing drums and singing duets with my sister in church.” My mom played the drums in church while she was carrying me,” Mario explains.

Mario wrote his first song when he was ten years old. “It’s called Silent Tears. I started out writing love songs before I wrote Gospel. I was a fan of Brian McKnight.” His abilities led him to be a featured performer touring the country with “The Wisconsin State Youth Choir” and Gospel group “New Creation”, as well as co-writing Gospel songs for them. Still a teen, he joined an R&B group called “Special Request” which later changed it’s name to “Reign”. During this time the group “Reign” was assigned to Noontime Studios in Atlanta, GA and worked with the likes of Jagged Edge, Jazzy Phe, Tank, Brian Michael Cox, Corna Boyz, the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez and many others.
