James Gillett

" Born and educated in West London, James studied art and film-making from a very early age. Compelled by the visual imagery he saw in his favourite media, he developed a keen interest in both the science and the artistry of film-making.

Following a degree in Film and TV Production he worked up from a runner in the heart of the Soho Post Production houses to a Motion Control Studio Manager.James familiarised himself with many roles behind the camera and eventually developed a passion for creating visual effects when discovering motion control robotic camera rigs. Trained towards the end of the 35mm Film era, he took those rich skills over to the digital age of video acquisition, often working alongside leading UK and International Directors aid aide capture their vision.

In a time where visual effects heavy films such as the Harry Potter, Fast and Furious and Marvel Cinematic franchises were taking box offices by storm, he decided to broaden the skills learnt within a small studio environment to work among these larger scale productions. He joined as a freelancer with the world's leading Motion Control Company and now films in new and often challenging environments in and around London but also wherever the job takes him internationally.
