Jacob Verbeek

Neuroscience trainer, supervisor, and social worker in Masterton, New Zealand

Hire me

I'm a self-employed neuroscience educator, counsellor, registered social worker and professional supervisor living in the beautiful Wairarapa, New Zealand.

Much of my mahi at present draws on my training in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (https://www.neurosequential.com/nmt), integrating the core principles of neurodevelopment and traumatology into various services in the education, social work and counselling sector as well as Rimutaka Prison. I'm supporting various schools across our region to shift towards a more brain-based, biologically-respectful approach to teaching.

My services are focused on educating and coaching individuals and organisations to have a better understanding of the key concepts that inform how our brains work. This in order to improve how we navigate the modern complexities of our relational environments and the pressures associated with this.

I'm passionate about seeing people grow in their personal and professional lives and am convinced we all need to make this a priority to thrive in this complex world around us.

My practice allows me to equip, empower and inspire people to obtain the skills and know-how they need to live and work well with each other in our Aotearoa New Zealand multicultural context.

I love innovation and creativity, including in my down-time when you'll find me pottering about in my garden, involved with various sports or busy with DIY projects.
