Hi. I'm Desirée.

A communications professional with a strong musical background and deep passion for travel.

A proud University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduate, I am currently located in NYC, managing communications (external and internal) for a nonprofit organization. I am also a freelance content creator and commmunications consultant. With an eye for detail, an international background, and a passion for writing, music, travel and events, I seek inspiring opportunities that foster relationship building, leadership and creativity.

Through my full time and freelance work, I have cherished the opportunity to get a thing or two published. I've also written editorial pieces that have appeared in the USA Today and the American Dental Association's ADA News. I've served as a social media community manager, building accounts from inception to engaging thousands of followers. I am well-versed in managing content calendars and live social media updates during events, analyzing social media trends and drafting and editing digital content.

On the media side, I have acquired a high level of experience in gaining coverage, sponsorship and gift bag placement for a variety of brands. Extra credit: When I'm not working, I write thoughts, I write songs, I read and I dispense opinions.
